Research Methods
Characterisation and treatment of circadian rhythm sleep disorders as experienced by blind people, shift workers and older people. Optimisation of melatonin (dose, timing) and light (wavelength, timing) to affect human circadian clocks. Spectral sensitivity of the human circadian axis. Using targeted UPLC-MS/MS metabolomics to study the links between clocks, sleep and metabolic disease (shiftworkers, Type 2 diabetes, liver disease). Dr Cheryl Isherwood, chrono-nutritionist, is a key team member.
